Dear Prime Minister Harper:

In June 2012 the CBC revealed that entertainment ultrasound clinics in Canada were being used to ascertain the sex of the child before birth. Some expectant parents, having a preference for sons, used this information to abort their child if it was found that the baby was a girl.

Sex selection abortion has been condemned by every national political party, the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada and most importantly by 92% of Canadian citizens. The UNFPA has studied this topic with growing concern as currently 117 million women are missing worldwide because of this and other discriminatory practices towards female children.

The current trends, consequences and implications for national policies of this sexual discrimination are only now surfacing. I urge you to vote for and support Motion #408 and condemn this discrimination. Canada has a strong international reputation as a leader in safeguarding human rights, let us continue in this role by soundly condemning this barbaric practice. Please support Motion #408.

Sincerely,

Your Message to Prime Minister Harper

Dear Prime Minister Harper: I’m very disappointed that we have elected a Prime Minister that is getting close to being a dictator.A dictator doesn’t like to hear any kind of opinion from his voters. Theres so many areas that you have a very deaf ear to. Stop and open your mind to what we the people are saying. You know if you were doing things in Government that makes sense you wouldn’t have these kinds of opinions coming from your voters. I’m ashamed of what your doing.
